Round Two of the Woolworths Victorian Junior Surfing Titles heads to the Mornington Peninsula

Gunnamatta, VIC/AUS (Friday 9th February, 2018): After a hosting the opening event of the Woolworths Victorian Junior Titles at Phillip Island, the prestigious series will move to the open beaches of the Mornington Peninsula this weekend.


As the premier junior surfing event in Victoria, the 3-event series will crown state champions in Under 14, Under 16 & Under 18 divisions in both Boys and Girls.


The series will also be the primary selection tool for the Victorian Junior Surfing Team that competes at the Surf Dive N Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles in November.


Round One saw some incredible surfing from Bella Wilson (Jan Juc), Codie Jeffery (Phillip Island), Sage Goldsbury (Phillip Island) and Ellie Harrison (Barwon Heads), who will be all looking to lock in another good result this weekend.


Competition will be held at Gunnamatta Ocean Beach that will provide some powerful waves for the best in the state.


Future Australian surfing champions will receive further help to ride the wave to success, with Woolworths expanding its commitment to the sport to include Surfing Australia’s six affiliated State branches Woolworths State Junior Surfing Titles, with 18 events to be run nationally across 6 States in 2017/18.


At each event, Woolworths will connect its store teams with the sport and celebrate the next generation of champions in local communities in each state.
